Joe Buissink | Catalyst Ranch, Chicago

A few days ago Melissa, BJ, and myself had the opportunity to hear Joe Buissink speak. I have never been one to follow names in photography, in fact when people ask me who my influences are they usually get a blank look. For the most part while I follow the work of people I know in person, I don’t really imprint other names in the industry on to my brain. Probably more to do with having a tough time remembering names in general. I do however distinctly remember discovering Joe’s work a few years ago when I was just starting out wanting to shoot weddings, and being totally blown away. Joe was extremely personable and exciting to listen to. Definitely happy we went to that one. And afterwards we got to hang out some more great photographers. Even though we missed out on burgers, we still had a great time!

Catalyst Ranch has all sorts of crazy stuff lying around, including these glasses that Melissa couldn’t resist.

Ha! I did not know these would go on the blog. Although I think I am happy this one made it instead of one of the ones from dinner… :)
