Nicole and Daniel have the type of romance that spans continents. Daniel, a native German, met Nicole and fell in love. No matter the obstacles they knew they were meant to be together. Unfortunately, being together is easier said than done when you have oceans and customs between you. Nicole was determined however and planed a romantic winter wedding at the historic Columbia Gorge Hotel just outside of Portland, OR all while Daniel waited patiently in Germany. The Columbia Gorge Hotel was built in 1921, is perched on a scenic bluff, and has panoramic views of the Columbia River. This part of Oregon is fastly becoming my favorite scenic destination outside of Portland. For the holidays the hotel decorates the outdoor landscape with an impressive Christmas light display. The inside of the hotel is cozy and beautifully decorated with classic decorations. It’s the perfect setting for a winter wonderland inspired wedding. We were so thrilled Nicole found us online because we were really excited to begin shooting Portland weddings as soon as we settled here. I think the Columbia Gorge Hotel was a fabulous venue to get acclimated to the gorgeous Pacific Northwest.

This is was our last wedding of 2009 and we feel so honored to have been a part of their intimate family affair.
