Lauren & Nic | Married! Part 3

I don’t dance. Partly because it’s embarrassing (me dancing that is), partly because every time I do it rains or snows. Think that’s crazy? Just ask Melissa… it’s true. And in our business inclement weather is never a desired aspect of the day, so I try to keep my dancing to a minimum. That however does not stop me from appreciating a good dance off. Lauren and Nic’s solid gold dancers were as entertaining as a “You Got Served” sequel. Definitely want to also credit Bill from Double Platinum DJ for keeping the music going strong all night. I think even Bill would admit that the night’s dancing reached new levels of quality for a wedding. It’s hard as a photographer to capture the energy and motion of a fast dance, but hopefully these photos will do a little justice to the fun and energy that was in the air that night.

The guys tear up with floor with their Pokerface rendition.

I like to shoot fast dancing with ultra wide angle lenses, so if you are familiar with how wide a 16mm is you will know how close I came to being kicked in the head to capture Rayfee’s skilled break dancing display.

Not sure what tradition it is to have a bunch of gorgeous women dancing around you in a circle, but to all future grooms it’s recommended.

Cupid Shuffle or Cha Cha Cha Slide? Can’t remember.

Andy, picking up girls twirling them around, and still managing to clean up any drink spills with that handy napkin of his.

Lindsay and Eric danced so well we insisted on shooting their 2010 wedding. The venue is still unknown at this time, but hopefully it will have an adequate dance floor for these two. I especially like the shot of Lindsay assisting Lauren with her drink. Sort of reminds of of those jet fighters getting refueled in midair.

So much fun you wanna rip your shirt off!

Lauren and Nic’s ceremony and reception were held at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in Chicago. Not only was the venue itself a great backdrop for a wedding, but they did a fantastic job with the details and decorations. Have a look:

We took Lauren & Nic’s Engagement photos in Chicago’s Lurie Garden in Millennium Park. The same place where Nic proposed to Lauren! We love these two!
