Our friend Janet discovered Lauren a few months before Melissa and I moved to Portland. Janet’s pretty particular on hair people, and had even been traveling up to Chicago to get her mane cut when she lived in St. Louis because it takes a talented set of hands to shear her locks. She raved about Lauren immediately when we asked for awesome PDX hair recommendations. Lauren will make your hairs happy, it’s a proven fact. In addition to keeping me from blending in too much with the lumberjacks, Lauren is also a blast to photograph. So the two of us have a photo project that might be a little long term, but is going to be a ton of fun to get into in my (spare?) time in the coming months. So stay tuned!

Being more of a documentary photographer in nature makes doing more posed styles of photography a bit difficult for me as I’m not used to directing much, but it’s always good to step outside of the box every once in awhile. Thanks to the beautiful Erin for being such a wonderful test subject!
