Mark & Kim-Married! Pt.3 [Portland Wedding Photographer]

We’re back with Kim & Mark’s gorgeous reception. We took a week off blogging to visit our family and friends in San Diego. We had a wonderful time catching up with everyone. We even got to unveil the photos from a wedding we shot in October at the Orfila Winery in San Diego with our couple for the first time in person. It was so rewarding to be able to relive the wedding with our new friends that I think we might make it a regular thing. It’s pretty powerful to be able to see the images blown up on a big screen with some of their favorite music playing in the background. It definitely made me love being a wedding photographer even more. We also fell in love with the Southern California wedding style and hope to shoot more weddings there in the next few years.

We’ll be showing off those pictures soon enough. In the mean time, we hope you enjoy the remaining shots from Kim & Mark’s wedding. I get excited to show off the details at every wedding and this is no exception. Brooke at Tying the Knot did an amazing job setting up the dinner space and I’m a huge fan of the consistency she used with K&M’s wedding monogram. It was highlighted in the table settings, the program, and even the dessert packaging. These are the little details that really bring an event together and are all the more reason to hire a wedding coordinator. They are the busy bees working behind the scenes to make everything perfect so our couples can just relax and really enjoy the day.

The second part of Mark & Kim’s wedding is even better the first. There’s the nervous energy right before the ceremony, the most adorable flower girl and ring bearer we’ve ever shot, emotional moments with their wonderful family, colorful fun in the Escalade limo Kim insisted on having to transport her crew, and silly & fun bridal party photos.

Mark & Kim- Married! Pt.1 [Portland Wedding Photographer]

Our goal as wedding photographers is to find couples who we have a genuine connection with, people who will remain our friends long after the wedding is over. That’s exactly what we got from Mark & Kim and I’m so excited to finally be posting their wedding!

These two have become amazing friends of ours over the past couple years. The talented Kim is helping us re-write some text on our website and they have volunteered to put us up when we visit Chicago for weddings later this year. We all share a love for cheesy action movies and cheap beer. Mark is hilarious and my stomach cramps from laughing so much around him. Kim is very caring and honest. Together they are a perfect pair and I look forward to knowing them for years.
So it was no surprise to us that their wedding was full of heart-felt moments and good times. Brooke from Tying the Knot was responsible for introducing us as well as helping Mark & Kim plan an event that reflected their personalities. Hope you enjoy the next few posts.

Josh and B.J. started the day with Kim getting ready at her parents house, hanging with her beautiful bridesmaids and family. I met Mark and his groomsmen at a hotel to capture Mark’s last single hours.
